| Draft Electronic Waste (Management & Handling) Rules, 2009 |
Draft legislation for the Environmental Sound Management of Electronic Waste has been prepared by GTZ-ASEM in partnership with stakeholders like the Manufacturers’ Association of Information Technology, Greenpeace and an environmental NGO, Toxics Link. The draft legislation is currently being examined by an Expert Committee constituted by the Ministry of Environment and Forest, Government of India.
The recommended draft regulation would lead to holisitc management of e-waste with defined roles and responsibilities of the producers, consumers and civil society. |
