Under the project "Natural Resource Accounting for the State of Andhra Pradesh", a draft report has been prepared by the Environment Protection Training Research Institute (EPTRI) for the Adjusted State GDP Accounts for Andhra Pradesh according to the United Nations Integrated System of Environmental and Economic Accounting. The draft report covers the sectors of Land, Water, Air, Municipal Solid Waste, Forest and Coal. The report has been reviewed by a national level expert and suggestions from the expert are being incorporated to finalize the report. There has been interest in similar exercises being conducted in other states.
The study would be a pilot instrument which leads to successful implementation of urban-industrial environment management solutions which can be replicated in other states on the basis of developed methodology and experiences. |
