Regional Seminar on Energy and Climate Change in Cold Regions, 21-24 April, 2009 in Leh (Ladakh, India) |
The seminar on "Meeting the challenge of development in energy-related projects and climate change adaptation strategies: Impacts and best practices in cold regions of Asia" was jointly funded and organized by European Commission, French Environment and Energy Management Agency, German Technical Cooperation, Ensemble Foundation and Energy Environment Solidarity.
The objective of the seminar was sharing successful experiences and best practices on policies concerning social, economical and environmental impacts of energy-related projects and adaptation to climate change in cold areas of Asia. The sessions included plenary sessions on impacts of energy projects in development, climate change adaptation strategies of local communities and catalyzing resources for clean energy mechanisms. Representative from Nepal, Bhutan, India, Afghanistan, Pakistan, China, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan took part in this event. |
