For all activities or projects run by ASEM three key indicators
are defined in order to measure the success of the activities:
Verifiable Environment Improvement
Multiplier/Demonstrative Effect
Capacity Building/Trained Personnel
Each
of these targets is measured in the course of the activity
and at the end of each project activity. This ensures that
all investment taken in ASEM activities is under continuous
supervision and non performing activities can be amended or
withdrawn in order to secure success.
In its special task as coordinator of the Indo-German development
cooperation in the field of industrial and urban environmental
management, ASEM aims at five goals :
1. Establish a Positive Strategic Alliance (PSA) among the
participating stakeholders for implementation
of individual project activities and for exchange
of information and sharing of expertise.
2. Optimize the resource utilization from the German Government
within Indo-German Cooperation concerning "Sustainable
Development, Resources Management and Environmental Protection"
(SURE).
3. Establish interaction and professional links among existing
and proposed projects for collaborative problem solving,
negotiation and networking and for effective implementation
of environmental policies.
4. Build capacities in the field of environmental management
in identified institutions and industries.
5. Demonstrate state-of-the-art technologies and processes
that are environmentally, economically and socially
viable and create demonstrative and multiplier effects.
